General Support: Network File Access

All JBU students, faculty and staff are given network storage space as a part of their JBU network account. For on-campus computers the network drive is called (M). By default all lab computers and office computers are set to save to that location. Any on-campus computer will give you access to those files.

You can also access these files via file transfer protocol (FTP) from JBU residence halls and off-campus locations. Click on the links below for specific instructions:

Student Access

In order to access files you have stored on your network drive (M) from off-campus follow these instructions.

  • Use an FTP program or Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer)

  • The FTP address is michael.jbu.edu
  • Use your network username and password
  • Drag files onto your desktop to work on them. Save them to your computer's hard drive while working on them. When you are ready to put them back on your (M) drive reopen your FTP program, follow the instructions above, then drag the file from your computer into the FTP window.
