Services: Media Lab
The Media Lab is a creative lab open to all students, faculty and staff at JBU to work on academic and co-curricular projects. The Lab functions as the collection and return point for equipment that is checked-out. Faculty, students and staff with creative and technical needs for media technology may obtain assistance from the Media Lab.

General services
The services of the Media Lab are available to JBU faculty and students for both academic and personal projects. Media Lab personnel are always available to help with equipment.
Video cameras are available for class assignments. Video editing hardware and software is also available in the Media Lab. When requested, Media Services will video tape class sessions and special academic presentations.
Sound reinforcement for academic and co-curricular functions may be requested. Sound systems are available to meet most needs on campus.
Slide projectors may be checked out from the Media Lab. Scanners are available in the Media Lab to transfer pictures, slides, and text to digital format.
Digital audio recorders and mics may be checked out for class-related projects.
Opaque projectors are available for use in the Media Lab. With this equipment students can enlarge a printed drawing for hand copying.
Equipment is available for roll lamination, press lamination, and dry mounting.
Supplies such as rubber cement, tapes, staples, oil pastels, crayons, marker pens, and glitter, are available at no charge in moderate amounts. Scissors, rulers, staplers, three-hole punch, and x-acto knives are also available for free use.
The Media Lab has an Ellison Die cutting machine. We have 2 inch upper and lower case block letters, 4 inch upper and lower case block letters, and assorted holiday shapes. In addition, we have several sets of stencils in various sizes and shapes. These are for use in the lab only.
A plastic ring binding machine is located in the Media Lab. Binding strips in four sizes and clear plastic cover sheets are available.

The quantity of items available for check-out is limited. You are advised to make an advanced reservation for equipment that must be used at a specific time. You may reserve equipment by coming to the Media Lab (Learning Resource Center L155) and making the request in person, or by filling out the online request form.
